What it means to discern and respond to God's timing - Pastor Glenn.

God needs us to get in touch with an internal clock. Which then translates into defining moments to get into God’s time.

Time is both quantitative and qualitative in its definition. Its an intersection of time, place and people. And time in itself is part of the continuum. It exists as Kronos and Kyros (google the definitions of these two variables of time).

In Ephesians 5:15, Paul talks about what us believers should do to make the best use of time, because the will of the Lord exists inside of time. Each minute, we should look for the moments that God has tucked into the minute for us to make/maximise the moments that God has defined for us. So dont waste time. Time itself is a variable within the moments of time that God creates for us.

An opportunity lost results in opportunity cost. If we have lost the time that God has defined for us and we dont catch the opportunity that he has created, we will not get back to it, until when God presents the opportunity again, in his own time, again. So our internal clocks have to always be tuned to detect God's time, so that we dont miss an opportunity from God.

Reading: Exodus 2:1-10

Moses getting saved/salvation from death. Story reads that Moses became the son to Pharoah's daughter. The time and opportunity that God created for Mirriam in enslavement in Egypt for her son to be saved. Mirriam ends up getting paid to nurse her own child who has been saved by God. At just the right time, Moses as a baby is rescued by the oppressor's daughter, who takes pity and a moment of salvation is presented. And Moses is saved. That is God's will.

The Archer's paradox.
An Archer - When someone has a target and a bow and arrow. They dont aim directly at the bulls eye. They will miss. So they have to factor in cross winds, distance from target etc, so that they aim not directly at the target, but wide off the target to be able to make the variables work towards hitting the target. You have to consider the variables in terms of being able to get into the moments that God has defined for us. You have to listen, pray and hear what God is telling you.

You dont necessarily need to respond in the moment. You have to pray through it sometimes to even get to understand what God is telling you, in the moment. You have to read a room. And if you are to impart God's messages, read a room like Jesus could do, present the message in the most appropriate way, and prayer helps you to do that.

Timing is everything.
You might be on the cautious side. Processing what God needs you to do. But then you have to respond, and lagging behind what God is calling you to do, you have to catchup to what God intends. Pray and catchup.

Paul says in the NT, find out what God is asking you/of you, and keep in step with the Holy Spirit and follow the prompts right in the moment.

God has an overruling of the time, the places and the people that exist in each moment. God is the God of everyone of your minutes and overrules on all of the moments of your life. He is.

Hear Him and obey/respond. In the moment.
