Politicians are Jon Snow.
The economy needs politicians, yes. Dont get me wrong. But if you spend your time chasing the politics of the day, and you are engaged with what the EFF said to the ANC, and the colonial apologism (or the lack thereof) that spits from Helen Zille’s twitter feed, you are wasting your time sir.
Government doesnt have solutions. Elections are a scam. And if you still believe that your vote is that much important, then you need to Google and read about Cambridge Analytica and Nikuv and Bell Pottinger. You will arrive at a sober conclusion.
And if you haven’t yet arrived at that conclusion, and if you are from Africa, then I must welcome you to this reality. I hope its a pleasant awakening.
Keeping an eye on the politics of the day is folly, unless you are a politician yourself. What you should rather do, while you are awake, is to think up and dream how we can do better as a people, because opportunities are boundless, if you look hard enough.
Think about how you can squeeze yourself into the supply chains. And how you can create markets. Take a chance.
But if we keep on protesting against the rot in government, a government that we keep voting for, and if we keep having running battles with the police, and holding online “save this or that country campaigns”, the country/countries will never be won. Choose your tools and build something for your community, profits and rewards will follow, as well as upward progression for those communities.
And then you can economically influence the politics.
Who knows, you could be the one funding a progressive political candidate that will save and serve us all from all the nepotism/cronyism and the pillaging of state coffers.
Start something fam. Your country needs you.
