Of history, The Bible and time.

So when you read this, you say that the entirety of the Bible should be discarded. Its an imperialist tool you say.

It expounds oppressionism, and encourages the slavery experience of Africans. And so Africans should stay away from the teachings in the Bible, because its abusive to us you say.

But, heres a thought. A key missing piece of info about the Bible is also that there was language interpretation, from the original writ, through to Roman interpretation and the Kings of the day whose intentions were nefarious, and through to modern times, so there has been wide translation.

And thats why you find that there are many versions of the Bible. But you also must understand that the missionaries didnt arrive in Africa on separate ships. They came in the same ships as the colonizers, and that goes a way into a discourse of intentions in imperialist planning, so I will not go into that story right now.

But, you are a learned man, and the reductionism of the big bang theory, you may have had to cast some skepticism towards at some point. But perhaps that moment hasnt arrived in your life.

But prior to imperialism and the arrival of the white Jesus story, Africans had a belief system that knew of special creation and that knew God.

And you may veer towards science to contra all that I’m saying, but that is itself drawn from the same racial influence and thought of the people that you scorn!

But yet, your people believed in a natural order of things, generations before, and they understood that humans were a creation, and they didnt sin against that Creator, and in the instances that they did, they performed ceremonies of penance and repentance, and reconnection.

And they survived in obedience to nature and to the natural order that they inherited, without scorn. And so, God is alive, as He was then, as She is now. We have always known this.

There is a significant historical aspect in the Bible, the applicable laws differ as you transition from the time of Moses to the time of Jesus & afterwards. Note also the initial focus on the birth of Israel (as a nation), their journey through time, until we get to the inclusion of Gentiles as a key part of God’s people (after the time of Jesus).

Focussing on a singular verse will significantly confuse anyone. The Bible is meant to be read as a whole. However Salvation itself does not require the knowledge of the whole Bible, but rightousness & belief & acceptance of Christ as a saviour.

(The requirements for Salvation before the time of Jesus differed, but ultimately one had to be faithful and true to their creator (see story of Job)).
