Game of Thrones. Jungle rules.

Ingwe is more powerful than Ingonyama, because it is faster you see.

They are both cats, but they are variants of the same thing.

But the lion is stronger because it has a larger jaw size and with one bite it can snap through any bone structure if its angry or angered or its fighting for its life or if its hungry.

The leopard is nocturnal and hunts at night mostly, it has better eyesight and night vision.

Lions are mostly diurnal and sleep at night and hunt during the day. At night, the leopard is the King of the animal kingdom in terms of predators.

But during the day, the Lion rules the hunt. The leopard sleeps during the day and sleeps on treetops and not on the ground because lions cant climb trees easily so they cant reach the leopard. So its safe up in the air for those with spots.

The leopard knows this about the Lion and the Lion knows not to be caught napping at night by itself because the Leopard will be on the prowl when it gets dark.

So the Lion surrounds itself with its own, a pack, during the night because the leopard is a loner and hunts alone and would be killed by the mob of lions if they find him out sniffing around the pack at night.

So they have a respect for each other as brothers, knowing that the other is powerful in their own right and they keep a distance and stay in their own lane, knowing their own limitations and thus a mutual co-existence of fear of the other exists.

Also, the leopard has spots for deception and camouflage. Its a deadly, fast and flexible foe. Its a killer and they are both built for a lethal and violent kill.

But, did you know that the king of the African jungle is actually the Eland (impofu)?

Its natural habitat is along the foothills up in the mountains. Neither lion nor leopard are to be found there as they prefer grassland or savannah.

So the Eland lives in peace and doesnt bother nobody. If you make the poor mistake of attack, then you have to have strong muscle and stamina to run up the hills/mountains, and your anger will kill you first before the Eland banishes you off with its long horns.

Its body was made to defeat any foe, from flight or fight. It runs up the hills better than a leopard can sprint in a straight line.

And, the Eland has protection. Its got bodyguards fam. It is protected in the hills by Eagles and Falcons and Monkeys and sometimes a platoon of Baboons which warn the Eland of potential mthakathis on the attack.

The birds and other smallanyana insects give advance notice of a predator and then the King is then on guard, ready to lift up to higher ground to a fortified defence.
