A play. That time when Uncle Jesus didnt show up for an appointment.

Him: On Friday we were supposed to meet. Until someone conveniently decided to forget. Because they did not want to buy beer.

Me: Is that an apology?

Him: Wena umnini wendawo ubumele uzihluphe.(Its your place, you were supposed to follow up with me. 🤷🏾‍♂️

From here on, to be read with an Old English accent.

Me: You’ll find great difficulty with me if you assume that position sir.

Im westernised in my social timekeeping sensibilities. I send an invitation only once.

And I watch the movement of the clock. My time carries a currency value. Im not reckless with giving it for free.

On the good occasion that I give my clock for free exchange, I presume and assume that the counterparty will recognise its fair and remarkable value.

Him: Is that so!

Me: My apologies kind sir. Once you have lost time, you can never get it back.

So its desireable to use each ticking of the clock, to its maximum. And to gratify your aspirations and ambitions, with that instant. As once its come, its then gone.

It is, kind Sir, a precious commodity. And we must, always, recognise its value and its worth.

So unfortunately, you will now have to be patient, for another opening of the gates, which will only now be, foreseably, in the warmer month of July. God willing.

So I would encourage you, Kind sir. To diarise, and request another such appointment.

Which I encourage you, still. To request, so that provision can be made, To accomodate you, once again.

I do, hereby, bid you a Good day, and a blissful evening.

Him: The month of July, will be remembered.

Me: And so it will, hopefully. Most gracious Sir.

We will await, your request for an appointment. And we wish you good mercy, may the hand of the Lord, grant you good favour.

Him: It sounds these days you are out to evangelize. Keep it up!

Me: Not at all. I just share my consciousness. If it coincides with evangelism, then bless the words, dear Lord.

I hope you noted my disappointment that you stood me up? 😉 (Parting shot)

Him: So how do you manage your meals? You cook / you buy take aways in this winter?

☝🏽He was trying to be sneaky here, to get me to visit him, rather than him visiting me before the end of June. Thats when I went for the slam dunk…

Me: The Lord provides.

Still love him though 😁
